TOP 5 OVERRATED FOOD JOINTS IN DELHI

Hello people,

Hope you all are doing great as always.

Today I will be revealing top 5 overrated eateries or restaurants of the Capital.

First things first, I have visited all these places may be more than thrice since 2015, so just sharing my views over it. 4 out of 5 are in Old Delhi :(

Here are my top 5 picks:

1. Karim's, Jama Masjid

I believe that every Delhite have been there once in their life (except vegans :P) and had a great meal there but I know most of you weren't that amazed with the food. No?

There was a time in late 90s or early 20s when Karim's was one of a kind but now he is having multiple competitors who are serving equal or better cuisines at a lower price of course.
I went there sometime back and ordered 'Chicken Mughlai' and 'Jahangiri Qorma' both the gravies were similar, the only difference was chicken and mutton.

But if you haven't been there, you can definitely consider it for a fine lunch or dinner.

2. Indian Coffee House, Connaught Place

I am sure, not many of you are aware about this place being situated in center of the Delhi. Yes, just between PVR Rivoli and the famous Hanuman Mandir of Connaught Place. This place is on the 2nd floor of the Mohan Singh Palace.

This place is considered to be a hub for writers or politicians sometime back but now it is nothing like that.

I went there during my college days and the reason is the 'BUDGET' I read somewhere that this joint offers food at pocket friendly prices, so I was there with my friends. Ordered Cutlet, Mutton Biryani, Cold Coffee, Dosa, everything was so cheap but at the same time it wasn't up to mark. The food was really disappointing. The only thing this place offers you is the amazing view of CP, that's it.

3. Paranthe Vali Gali, Chandni Chowk

This place doesn't need any intro, every Delhite is well aware of this place.

Serving a vast variety of Paranthas fried in Pure Desi Ghee lands nowhere when it comes to the taste. True!

These are not the regular paranthas which we normally eat, I would say it's a mixture of parantha and puri. Heavily stuffed and deep fried in Desi Ghee served with 2 sabjis, chutney and pickles, not worth the hype, honestly. This place got the hype because of Akshay Kumar, he used to live there in House No. 1136

They are serving from last 6-7 generations but still there isn't any improvement in the taste yet :P. Not too expensive and can be tried once.

4. Natraj Dahi Bhalle Wala, Chandni Chowk

Just opposite Paranthe vali gali, serving may be the best in Chandni Chowk but definitely not the best in Delhi. YES!

The place for the people who goes to Chandni Chowk for shopping and needs a little punch of munching or brunching at times. They serve only two items: Dahi Bhalla and Aloo Tikki

I went there because I heard a lot about this place but it was a waste of time for sure. My recommendation would be 'never go there just to try their dishes'. This should only be tried when you are in Chandni Chowk for any other purpose. I won't say the food was bad but it is not what I expected to be, the same quality I've been eating in other areas of Delhi as well.

5. Kake Di Hatti, Chandni Chowk

Famous with the name 'THE KING OF NAAN' yes it is indeed the king of naan but only in terms of size, stands nowhere out when it comes to the taste, mind it.

Highly crowded, the famous kake di hatti is worth trying but kindly leave your expectations at home.

Firstly, you have to wait for several minutes to take your seat. Once you are there you have to wait for several more minutes for somebody to come and take your order, p.s. their service is very poor, you will never get your order at once. I went there for dinner last week, we ordered tandoori platter, shahi paneer, dal makhni, malai kofta and king butter naan. So the order arrived like this: 9.25pm - Dal Makhni,  9.30 pm - King Naan, 9.40 - Malai Kofta and Shahi Paneer and at last 9.50 - 'The Starter' arrived LOL Tandoori Platter. 25 Mins difference in between the ordered dishes is not acceptable at all.
And if I talk about the food, it was okayish and nothing to get mad about.

Hope you do not get offended after reading this :)

Delhi's Super 30 - Free School Under The Yamuna Bank Bridge

Hello people, Super 30 inspired me to write this blog as a similar story is taking place under the Yamuna Bank Metro Station Bridge. He is not yet great as Mr. Anand Kumar but still he has taken an initiate to become great from just being good. The Big Story Underneath the Yamuna Bank metro bridge, is a unique school which has neither uniforms, nor classrooms - called simply the ‘Free School Under The Bridge.’ It offers a ray of hope to the forgotten children of daily wage and domestic workers of the area. With over 300 students coming in regularly, from grades 3rd to 8th, the classes are divided into two shifts, where the boys are allotted the morning slot and the girls the evening slot.   Founded by Rajesh Kumar Sharma in 2010, the school started its journey with only a couple of students. Kumar recounts, “I want them to have a future, their parents don’t care about studies, they are uneducated. But, I know education is important for all children. I want to work f

REVEALING KFC'S SECRET 'HOT AND CRISPY CHICKEN' RECIPE

Hello Folks, This blog was planned for some days later but as the KFC has already declared 6th July as the 'National Fried Chicken Day', I can't think of a better day to do it than today. So, here I am....   I personally did a lot of R&D on this recipe to make it as much close as possible, and I believe that I made it. Let's start ;) The most important part in this recipe is the chicken cuts, never buy curry cut chicken from any store like 24x7 or any other place, the reason behind is Curry cut chicken has 12-14 pieces of a chicken, but KFC has only 10 (except neck and liver) and for that you need to go to a butcher shop by yourself and advice the butcher, before they chop chop your chicken.   Once you get that chicken home, wash it properly and marinate it. Yes, just like tandoori chicken, it also goes through a marination of about 4 hours. Some KFC recipes over the internet says to marinate it in buttermilk (lassi) but that is not my pick for sur
